Jill McBride’s artwork represents a playful relationship with reality and dream state, reflecting on Freedom to Dream and Freedom of Freethinking

Themes drawn from realness whilst storytelling playful antidotes, sensitivity, whilst sometimes humorous - sometimes serious. Often inspired by life topics, folklore, mysticism, nature with its glorious universe, handcrafts, colour relations and balance, historical matters - culture, periodical fashion, food, people and funny ideals. Anything which sparks that magic really!

The ability of Freedom is again practised within the changing art processes and mediums whilst not being afraid to discover and experiment.

Composition v Colour balance plays alongside working relations between various art mediums & techniques. Graphite pencils, black ink and print are Jill's first loves as these allow free movements using her hands and closeness to traditional handcraft.

Throughout her array of artwork are displays of illustration, various drawing exercises and methods, sketching - loose, fast or controlled, painting, various print methods using different mediums & methods. Art Series and Illustrations can be seen here.

One of her latest projects include illustrating a children’s story book in collaboration with her mother “Gillian McBride” for “Albert’s Got Big Feet”.

Illustrations can be seen on the website and here.
